Haryana - An Introduction

Haryana is a landlocked state in northern India. It is located between 27°37' to 30°35' N latitude and between 74°28' and 77°36' E longitude. The altitude of Haryana varies between 700 to 3600 ft (200 metres to 1200 metres) above sea level. An area of 1,553 km² is covered by forest. Haryana has four main geographical features:

  • The Yamuna - Ghaggar plain forming the largest part of the state
  • The Shivalik Hills to the northeast
  • Semi-desert sandy plain to the southwest
  • The Aravalli Range in the south

You find an array of tourist attractions in Haryana. Highway Tourism is is one of the most important tourist attractions in Haryana.

You can drop into any of these and spend a gala day enjoying boating, picnic hides and children's parks, paying visits to restaurants, ice cream parlours, gift shops and bars - an ideal family gateway.

Since the state has quite a few religious places steeped in ancient myths and history, which from majors tourist attractions in Haryana. The best thing about these places is that most of these can be covered in day or two from the cities like DELHI.
